I make Pedals one at a time in my spare time off from my day job
At Black Rabbit Pedals, I specialize in creating handmade guitar effects pedals that combine quality with affordability, ensuring every musician can access the sound they desire without breaking the bank. Right now most of my pedals are built on Vero Board but I do plan on going to Printed Circuits boards for each pedal (Doesn't this mean NOT handmade???) This is a misconception, I will still be hand populating and soldering the PCB's one at a time, as well as hand wiring the other pedal components. A circuit board makes the pedal more durable, Quieter (Noise Floor) in operation and quicker to build (allowing me to keep the cost low. Currently however each pedal is made on Vero Board. Know that any time I change anything in my process I will be the first to tell you.
What I do now and what I Will Do going forward
Affordable
I've been playing guitar for most of my life and I understand how hard the decision to spend money on gear is. I do my best to keep the pedal cost as low as I possibly can. Currently this means I don't pay myself a wage. The price I'm charging covers the parts and leaves a bit for my effort.
About me
Building and selling guitar pedals was truly a bit of an accident. After making my first design (Red Medicine) a friend said Hey! I want one... then another friend... and another... So I said sure, let me make them pretty first though lol! So I hand painted and built 5 pedals and sold them in a matter of days. At the same time I began studying circuit blocks and coming up with more designs. All just stuff I thought sounded cool. I demo'd and reviewed guitar pedals on YouTube for the last 8 years or so and I think I know what makes a good pedal. It is my Goal to turn this passion project into an actual company. So thank you for your support it truly means the world to me. So far in less than a year I've designed and released about 8 pedals. If they sell I make more, if not... I don't. It's a simple as that really. I hope you follow along on this journey and maybe pick up a pedal for yourself or a friend or family member.
